See history in a new way…
Part of the problem students have with understanding the past is that historical events do not unfold neatly. This can make the larger narrative difficult to follow. In addition, students can easily feel overwhelmed by the amount of information they encounter.
ClioVis enables users to visualize their research or study materials while also gaining a deeper understanding of the historical connections at play across different time periods or eras.
ClioVis allows students to conduct their own primary or secondary source research – and cite their research in the application. (Students cannot add an event to the timeline unless they have a source.)
ClioVis is a tool that stresses collaboration. Students can work together in groups and learn from each other. This fosters a sense of community in the classroom. They can chat within CV while they work.
ClioVis allows users to categorize events according to assignments or preference and they also need to cite their sources and justify the connections they make as they create their timelines. This fosters higher level thinking skills.
ClioVis as it has a presentation tool and there is no need to export data to Powerpoint or Prezi.
